Welcome to L27, I am your GM for this chaotic world of the dark ages; my name is Chet S. My Lords GM address is: Lords27gm@throneworld.com for orders and L27 stuff, and my L27 paypal address is: Chetb5@snet.net
***Turn fee is now a $6.00 donation starting T43, and there is also a $6.00 donation for a startup fee for new players, since most people did not pay by credit card (or did not pay the $.50), and paypal was still charging me a fee on everything (and the turn fee has been at $5 for a long time and the cost of running the game has gone up). Also I do not accept any personal checks as my bank charges me a $20 fee for any bounced checks that I deposit...(Money orders & certified checks are ok.)
Any nation that reaches a -$12.00 balance without making an arrangement with me will not be processed, and not sending orders in for three turns in a row in addition to not making payments, will force me open your country to a new player who has the time and money...
I have policy of no switching nations if your balance is in the red, until that negative balance is paid and you must also pay for one turn ahead so you're in the black.
BTW if your orders form doesn't have a yellow highlight section in the middle of it, you are using the wrong sheet and need to download a new one from the file section of this site or at the L27 home site at: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lords-27/files/L27_Excel_orders_template.xls
If you do not have Microsoft Excel, there is a free version of Office called OpenOffice that will open, edit and save Excel file at: http://www.openoffice.org/
Do not put new or old projects in the builds section of the above Order form; they only go in the new or old projects section, and do not delete any part of the order form that you are not using, just leave the unused sections blank and do not add any page-breaks either.
Make sure your e-mail address is right in your orders, that is the address the program will send your stat sheet to... and that it has the right turn number too!
Troop builds: If your leader is in the region already, don't build troops for the garrison and then have him pick them up, just build troops for him.
Mercenaries: Remember that you MUST specify a city where you are hiring the Mercs. Failure to do this will result in no Mercs and the money being lost. Also, mercenaries may not be hired for more than one turn at a time. This may change when the Years per Turn reduces sufficiently enough for a contract to carry over to multiple turns. PLEASE put where you are hiring any mercenaries AND how many you are trying to hire AND how much you are willing to pay per point of troops in your builds section on the order form. PLEASE put this information in the notes section at the end of your builds. Otherwise you will not get the mercenaries and the GPs bid on them will be lost.
For Public works (PWB) builds, please state whether it is for a region or city in your builds section. (Like "Region of Kashmir", "City of Atlantis"...).
For expanding cities please put the name of the city in location, not just the region it is in. Also for WP for fortress always put the region in for Location and for WP for cities always put in the city name for location. Last but not least in the item column in the build section do NOT write out fully what your building please use the codes, for example: your building 10 elite infantry, do NOT write "Build 10 elite infantry", instead write 10ei and do that for all units and also put no space between 10 and ei (the lords program reads it this way.).
Claimed Regions and Cities: These regions and cities will be noted by a dot in your color, not a full color shading of the region.
Order format: Please name your orders L27_T42_NationName.xls
The L27 Order form has been updated to have more rows and space; if you need more row you can insert them, but please don't delete anything. http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lords-27/files/L27_Excel_orders_template.xls
***BTW: please use abbreviations in the rules for Intel commands (CI for counter intelligence, etc) and for units (f for field forts, etc), Also there does not have to be a space between the amount and the unit (or the word build) so write ten field forts as 10f.
***Heirs and Princes: Unless stated otherwise in your orders, when a King's male child comes of age he is promoted to Heir (if he has none then any male child in royal family). Likewise when any male child comes of age he is promoted to Prince if there is an opening and I don't forget to check.
***Please let me know if PWB are for a city or a region by putting a "c" or "r" in fount of it like this: 10 rPWB.
***From now on if your leader has NO name he or she gets NO action.

the depth of your convictions.

Shogun Aro again tried to further strengthen his hold on the mainland by getting Amgu's lords to fully join the Shogunate, but he was far mightier with a sword than with a quill pen (or diplomatic talks for that matter)... After he made a colossal investment to the university (during country's 200th anniversary celebrations) last turn, unsurprisingly, none was made this time around (for even the student's chamber pots were made out of gold!). Elsewhere the great explorer Lord Kama returned to report only limited success exploring the Kiska arrow and that he lost of half his ships due to storms. At the same time the rest of the Shogun's leaders were sent on diplomatic missions that were for the most part successful. Another very large gold payment was made to the Kannagara this time with some Argo.
Grandmaster Korizawa again kept up his defense of Amgu spending long days and nights drawing up defense plans for the region. His leaders were either attempting to establish new sites or bringing reinforcements to him (or helping him with the defense plans). He was very pleased with the progress made in replacing the troops lost in the failed mainland China campaign of many years ago, if fact the order's troop level was now greater then what they once had been.
King Gang Hong-Rip just spent his time ruling his newly formed imperial government. As one of his princes and one of his leaders died of old age, and his Heir Kim Dae-Jung was entering his 40s and he wasn't even married yet! The royal court was grumbling about the royal nursery being empty, and to make matters worse ugly rumors began to spread that his Heir didn't even prefer the company of the opposite sex. Also more disturbing news arrived of some dock workers found in the harbor of Pusan, their bodies were bled dry and covered with weird geometric symbols...
At the newly moved and rebuilt capital (at a far grander scale), within the lavish Emerald Palace, Emperor Tuoba Dao ruled and kept his wife busy by filling the brand new royal nursery with four daughters and a son. The only distressing thing was the news of the spread of the "Monk Flu", and that one of his leaders was robbed and killed in the region of Shentung.
Emperor Lui Zhaokang journeyed to the region of Kiangsu to talk to them about them the consequences of disappointing him by became less friendly and embracing a heretic Buddhist cult. After his arrival he waited for his missionaries to convince them to change their ways, and when that failed, he use his army to brutally force them to change their ways. Back home he left one of his Princes and one of his Leaders to administer to the Empire, but one did good and the other so poorly that it offset the good one. Unfortunately there was so much finger pointing that nobody was sure who did what...
Grandmaster Qi Tong Died in 711, one of the first to die of what was to become know as the "Monk Flu". From 711 and on it ravaged all the temples and got so bad that most local lords burnt the temples in their regions or city in an attempt to stop its spread. By 715 with all its leaders and over half of its members dead, the Order of the Shaolin Temple was no more...
Primate Tan Man Kang continued to sit like a Buddha statue, as he waited for enlightenment (while its clergy did all it could to fight the "Monk Flu").

Emperor Hu Dong stood ready as usual with his humongous army to defend his Empire. While his Heir ruled in his stead and propagated, but it turns out that his rule was only half as good as his father's. The very old Buddhist priest named Kang Chou reached 84 before he left this world; his replacement was a boy only in his teens.
Primate Kai-Lun was again preaching along with some of his underlings, until he disappeared from his blood soaked chambers and was presumed dead. Another leader was accidentally killed by Horan troops in Kiangsu and yet another was found in the backstreets of Chang'ling with his heart torn out (as in his heart was taken...). Dewei was chosen as the new primate (as nobody else would take it) because he established 7 out of 8 sites (the one he didn't do already had a site there). The Honan Emperor might think that he crushed the heresy in Kiangsu with his troops, but the Theravadas really know it was the Theravada religious ops that finished it off and did the trick. By the way, some troops were trained for the first time in ages and it looks like with the primate's bloody disappearance that the church will need them...
Emperor Gnialat II continued to rule quite well with help of his heir's administering even although he was sick much of the time. He observed the Empire's bicentennial with lavish celebrations, and many flocked to the cities to see them. The only complaint was from the royal court that the Heir was approaching forty and still wasn't married and had no children to carry on the royal line with (the royal nursery was covered in a thick layer of dust...) Also four leaders were sent to DP the region of Utara, and had great success despite two of them being nameless.
King Tri Jayaavarman II proclaimed himself Emperor and he took some time to intervene in some mercantile affairs. He let his heir rule (quite poorly I might say) and with his new Asamakara princess of a wife continue to provide the Emperor with some more grandkids. A mercenary fleet was hired to help Lord Vu Khieu to explore the Celebes Sea and they returned with its rutters.
Lordship Akoni Died in the year 711 when capital and homeland took a direct hit by a Meteor and was vaporized; all that was left was a mile high column of smoke above the crater...

Dearth struck again as much loved Primate Yohnes died in 712 of old age, and the city of Meshentra was damaged by an earthquake and its temple destroyed.
No orders received...
Grandmaster Ajit was perturbed by the news from an advisor that Africa was out of control range and that is sites were degrading, furthermore three of his leaders died of old age or accidents, and one of them in Berbera also had his troops disperse. On the other hand the loss of the Africa sites might be a good thing since the Order was suffering a famine and couldn't feed them.
As his last duty before he stepped down from the throne, Emperor Ilore interfered in merchant affairs. He then retired to a Hindu Monastery in Malabar his life work done. His son and Heir peacefully took his place and followed his father's plans for building up the Empire, and to prevent further civil war two new fortresses were built, one was named after his father. The new Emperor Madahtri was saddened by the continuing civil war and bloodshed in Chandela, but was happy to accept tribute from a couple of its regions and cities. But he wasn't so happy to hear about the rumor that the city leaders of Samantha were worried about Asamakara rule and sought to sabotage his Prince's diplomacy in Surashtra with an assassination attempt.
Raja Versha proclaimed himself Emperor during his rule, while his young heir did better with the religious conversion in Tz'uk'an, but unfortunately missionaries sent there undid all his good work with their poor performance. He too was troubled by the continuing civil war in Chandela, but he had no trouble accepting tribute from a couple of its regions and cities.
Lordship Avati ruled until the day he died of a strange sickness that seem to target the royal family as all of them perished, thus the new city fortress didn't help them one bit. Civil war quickly broke out and it was most terrible and brutal with brother fighting brother and father fighting son, tragically during the five years of fighting almost a quarter million died, and the end came when regions and cities started allying and paying tribute to its neighboring countries for protection. Alas Chandela is no more....
Emperor Admohi issued no orders yet again (worse yet no payments), so a new player began anew. (Country also accepted a couple of Chandela's former regions and cities.)

Emperor Qutlugh did the same old same old "him ruling and his heir administrating" scenario, but he was also ready to defend his magnificent Empire. Surprisingly, for some reason nobody told the Emperor about the return of Prince Tosatan, he thought the Prince was still in the dog-pits of Khirgiz. Elsewhere half of his leaders were out on diplomatic missions that had mixed results because half of them couldn't DP their way out of a paper bag...

Patriarch Zarutha prolonged his stay in the port city of Sinope on the Mare Negri, converting the abbey (named after him) into a monastery, but an accident at the construction site killed him. He was buried outside the "House of Zarutha" near the place he had grown to love. Archbishop Tulnamon was the hands down favorite to replace the Patriarch, due to him being the most charismatic leader the Church has seen in decades. Awful news arrived that Archbishop Belozi passed away in Pannonia, and since there was no backup leader, his troops dispersed. Elsewhere Zoro Mercs were hire to defend the region of Asia, and the Church continued to grow beyond its means, its government was stretched way too thin even although the Church tried reducing a couple of its holdings to combat it.
During the country's bicentennial celebrations, Vahram VI ordered a very large force trained to deal with the Horde in the North and gave command of it to young Prince Vahram VII and sent him north to help the Colchis forces. Like I said he was young and therefore not very ambitious so he followed his ShahanShah's orders to the letter. While another Leader named Khadames got a smaller force, but he was a little bit older and a lot more ambitious; his orders were to go to Tyre, get more troops, then get shipped to Macedonia and invade it with another leader named Peruz. When he got to Tyre, and got more troops, he got to thinking about setting up his own little kingdom there and talked Peruz in to joining him, somehow Admiral Kian caught wind of the plot and had his fleet make sail to Smyma before it could be captured by the Revolutionaries. Back in the capital aftershocks could be felt from the great earthquake that hit the neighboring region of Mosul (and destroyed its city of Ashur), or was it Vahram VII raging up and down his palace demanding the heads of the two who revolted, "where are my assassins?" he yelled, suddenly he stopped and grabbed his chest, keeled over and he was dead...
Valiahd Shapur ascend the Persian throne without any more troubles and saw to the running of the government, except that he was disappointed to find out that the Zoro Church forgot to hand over the copy of Greek fire that they made. He also was faced with the situation that over half his remaining loyal troops were up in the North; therefore he decided he would have to wait for their return before he could deal with the rebels.
After fighting steadily for 30 years the war stalled due to a pair of Persian leaders revolting in Lebanon. As due to a lot of Persian troops were sent North to help the Colchis defend the region of Abasigia and their new capital from another Mongol attack that never came about, afterwards they retuned home. Meanwhile a small Zoroastrian church army in Pannonia had its leader die of old age and it dispersed. The Greeks themselves used this lull to take the time to rebuild their defenses and take care of some vermin in their capital.
Grandmaster Sanve grew tried of all the criticism he received, about how he followed too closely the example of his predecessors. So he decided to get off his fat bottom and do something. He actually left his sanctuary and went out into the world to establish a pair of order houses, funny thing was that the first place he went to already had one, the next place he arrived at didn't so an order house was successful built. He then return home to his extravagant order fortress with its cozy cushions...As Brother Kerce went about his usual business of establishing sites, he ended up in the city of Chersonesus and found it and its region strangely deserted. Elsewhere an order house in Achaea was looted and destroyed by the ERE, but that was not unexpected.
[See The Second Romano-Zoroastrian War (681-)].
Autarch Nasim gathered all his men, all his horses, and all his leaders to organize a last stand against the Mongols at Abasigia that would go down in history as one of the greatest. Within a year his position was considerably reinforced by a large army with a wet behind the ears teenage leader from his Persian allies to the South. Together they dug a vast array of siege-works made up of ditches and wooden spikes to combat the horsemen. However after all that work he wasn't too terribly upset that they didn't put up a last stand as the Mongols didn't show up, invading Patzinak instead. He was sorry to see the Persians returned home just before five years were up (but they had their own problems), as they left they said call on us when you're really going to have a battle...

After Sultan Gaffar Interferred in Mercantile Affairs and as he stood ready to defend his land (incl. HC) he set in motion some farming improvements to the island of Madagascar, with the hope that it would one day become the Sultanate's breadbasket. Just maybe one day it would ease or counter the famine his people were suffering horribly. Maybe just one day he would no longer look out from his palace balcony and see all those hungry or staving children in the streets of his capital. While the Sultan kept busy, his Heir ruled quite well in his stead, but he received some disturbing news late in 715 that due to the low religious strength of the Sultanate, all the missionaries sent to Madagascar were slaughtered by the locals almost as if it was a game...

Emperor Merakh was finally blessed with some heirs (his new wife was mistakenly thought to be barren) and the royal nursery heard baby's cries for the first time in a decade. His rule was absolute with him keeping his very large army tightly under his control, as he strategically ordered reinforcements sent to his Heir Abubakar II in Tripolitania. Field forts were built in the recaptured lands along with a regional fortress in Tripolitania, as he proclaim "The Vandal dogs will never get these lands back again!". His Heir received his seal packet of orders from the Emperor from a courier under heavy guard, his orders were to advance into Gefara and take over it and its city, and cut down the Vandal Kingdom one piece at a time (AC assassin attempt on the Heir was foiled by Intel corps). The Emperor issued a decree stating that the Egyptian Empire was at peace with the Knights of Arius and that trade would be reopened, but none the less he had them attacked in Tripoli.
After 25 years the Coptic War (Holy Grail War) slowed to a crawl, as mighty Egypt cautiously advance only one region and stopped to regroup, perch on the Vandal doorstep to their homeland like a eagle soars above the dove, poised for yet another attack. At the same time as the Theban Master was assassinated in Zirid for the second time in ten years, his second in command finished his orders and went looting (and destroying) Arian church sites in most of Sicily. Whereas Military things were quiet, they more than made up for that with a fury of Intel and Assassin attacks from both sides.
The Theban Master (named Victor) was assassinated in Zirid by Vandal assassins for the second time in ten years. His second in command Brother Octavious who was with him, became the next Grandmaster and finished his orders by leading the Theban army on a mission to loot most of the Arian Church sites in Sicily. It was said that a mere brother became Master as none of the Elder Brothers wanted the fatal job...

Patriarch Mark became exasperated and gave up trying to run the Church's day-to-day activities as he flung his hands into the air and announced he was all thumbs with the administrate work. So he left the holy city and brought reinforcements to Tripolitania and took control of his holy army there. Overall he was still displeased with reports that church sites continued to degrade in Kanem and Akan due to that meteor destroying a cathedral in Soro ten years ago, and that three of his clergyman died due to old age or accidents. Otherwise he was pleased with Church missionaries to Vandal lands, where they made great process.

Emperor Verhanu did some IMA and ruled (+HC), and ordered Athenos in Attica rebuilt as a future trade conduit with ERE permission. The only unpleasant thing to happen was that Price Makale choked to death on a fishbone in Zeila derailing diplomatic efforts there.
Emperor Vivek did some IMA and ruled (+HC). He ordered defenses strengthen with a new city fortress (as the city expanded) and had some field forts built. Somehow project support was overpaid by over ten times the true amount; luckily the royal accountants caught the error and returned the gold to savings. Other than that things were quiet and peaceful as the Empire prospered.
New King Lumbago retrained some of his troops in his army and then did the ole "him ruling and his heir administrating" scenario (both HC). He was still adjusting to being a sovereign, but overall most of his people agreed he was doing quite well. The Great thinker Kujuwakwangu arrived and was given a hero's welcome, he promptly improved warship techniques. Leader Miklo got some troops from the King and went to defend the city of Cteshwa, but sadly he died soon after arriving of a strange sickness he picked up on the way thus his troops leaderless.

Grandmaster Segun Odegbami continued with his minor role in the Coptic War, this time he avoided attacking the Vandals at over the mountains by journeying to the Bir-el-khazaim Oasis and attacking the Vandals at the Adar Oasis, and he easily conquered it. The only problem was that he wanted to have the Arian church site there looted too but he forgot to give the proper command (use LR for loot region), which might have been a good thing since he didn't say anything about sharing the loot with his troops. Elsewhere efforts to woo over the rebel student failed miserably as Intel really messed up effort to subvert him, soon the were clashes between the students and Brother Kalu Uche's (4,000 infantry) army outside the Order Fortress, but the students were too slippery for the Brother to corner and defeat, and he lost 400 troops in the attempt, although the student rebel leader Kwabana out commanded the St.Cyril Brother he also lost a third of his students, but those that remained became more experienced and he attracted more students to make up for the losses..

The Emperor Djibuti with his army, stood ready in Kanem-Bornu to react to any invasions or land burnings, but to better protect the western part of his country from those crazy earth scorching Arians, he ordered an army station in the center of his nation with 10,000xi to protect it. Within the capital the royal court was happy that the new Emperor married, but was disappointed that he sired no heirs.
King Matar ruled and had his heir reproduce. Surprisingly he gave his other leaders no orders so of course they enjoyed their vacation. Within the Kingdom many reported seeing strange lights in the sky and some said they saw a couple of meteors streak across the sky into the east. Also Benin was found to be acceptable for intense cultivation due to the rich vulcanite soil (as a level three project).
Patriarch Ralston defended Carthage and was ready to call another holy war if it was attacked. These dark times got worse with the lost of many church sites due to looting mostly by the Thebans. Other church leaders kept busy as one returned with the rutters to South America and the news that the region of Campoi was uninhabited. And also another helped to steal the Egyptian treasury before he died in an attempt to cause unrest with Egyptian troops in Ad'Diffah.

Emperor Garvin ruled and maintained an active defense of Carthage. He again hired some AC Mercs to defend Kabilya and Tunisia. Grim news assaulted the Emperor of some new loses, this time the Intel and Assassin corps took a beating. Furthermore the last of the cowardly Knights of Arius left Carthage and a couple other regions and cities. "Good riddance!" stated the Emperor "You can come back when you grow some hair on your testiculus!" Only good news was that a Vandal assassin named Bonifatius killed the grandmaster of the Thebans again (and he was awarded his second metal of valor went he returned); and when the Thebans left Zirid it revolted and returned to the Kingdom's control.

King Mundberht foolishly gave command of most of his troops to Prince Magnulf before he went to Veposkava on a diplomatic mission to get it to fully join the Kingdom. Upon his return home the King found the Prince Magnulf comfortably settled on the King's Throne, the battle that followed was short and swift and fatal to King Mundberht, but luckily for the Teutons their Intel agents were able to assassinate Prince Magnulf and crush the revolt and place the Heir Nordberth on the Throne. During this excitement Prince Meinrad became the provost to the university, a post he had coveted for years. This thirst for knowledge made him take a trip to the Skaggerak to investigate the tales of a monster there. "Maybe I can befriend the beast" he thought, "oh what a great natural defender of the coast it would make!". Alas he found no sign of the creature, but did hear some wild tales from fisherman about some "Deep Ones"...Well back in the Capital, the new King Nordberth (even though his wife was making babies as fast as she could) promoted one of Mundbreht's son as his heir, only time will tell if this was a wise move... Elsewhere a Lord Ivan who was preaching in Vologda was found hanging from a tree, by his neck... (With weird lines and symbols etched into his skin...)
The sign said "Come to Gothland the new Horde gateway", but surprisingly the Mongol Horde left Bolgar and didn't come to visit (after it was paid some gold of course). To be on the safe side King Alaric defend Muscovy with everything his had, and he sent a couple of leaders to Bolgar to pay off the Mongols and DP the region back after they left (and they left it such a mess with horseshit all over the place...).

Emperor Basileus ordered a substantial gold payment be sent to the Mongol Horsemen as tribute. As payment for St.Georgios' treachery their sites in the region and city of Constantinople were looted and destroyed and half the loot was given to the troops and the other went into the treasury as the Emperor proclaim "I will no longer tolerate these vermin in my sight". The Emperor personally led his troops and efforts to find and destroy and any SE sites in Constantinople, and with grim satisfaction one site was destroyed and one of its Persia leaders killed and its body nailed to the city walls...Soon afterward the Emperor's agents had to ward off not one or even two, but three assassin attacks against the Emperor. Elsewhere a Farohars' site in Achaea was destroyed by the Greeks, and the region of Crimea and its city was evacuated. While in the capital the Emperor order a vigil against any more terrorist attacks against the food supplies and horses.

Grandmaster Pericles died in 713 of a stomach disorder (a good pun would be that he couldn't stomach the war), he is forever known to the Greeks as "The Traitor"(Since then, to call a Greek a "Pericles" is the lowest form of insult). After the Grandmaster's passing a mere brother named Petros was chosen as the new Grandmaster for his extreme charisma and that he successful established an Order Estate in Andalusia. Elsewhere the Order showed no resistance to the looting of its Constantinople sites by the ERE.
Emperor Temukin kept up his long standing policy of genocide with another bloody rampage with his army to finish the remaining traces of the Black Rose heritage in his Empire. This time his target was in the region of Bohemia. But as fate would has it, he died at the hands, I mean pitchfork, of one of the last survivors of the Black Rose, almost as if to pay him back for all his bloody deeds, that the greatest ruler and general that Ulania has ever seen was killed by a peasant. Back home his Crown Prince (heir) Gemano's rule was quite pitiful, therefore after Prince Kurga finished his late Emperor's orders in Bohemia with Emperor's army slaughtering the last of the Black Rose, he gathered up the army and marched on the Capital demanding that Crown Prince Gemano step aside and that he rightfully should be crowned emperor. Gemano met Kurga in battle with the forces that were left in the capital. Gemano (who was a better general than ruler, like his father) was outnumbered, however, he had at his command all of the field forts in the homeland, and used this to his advantage. But still it took three major skirmishes before Kurga was defeated and executed. Tragically the cost was 36,000 dead Ulanians...
Khan Altan contently stroked his beard and listened to his Wiseman's and his allies' advice concerning the battle plans to revisit the region of Alan. He was told of many bad omens concerning that place, thus he decided to go invade Patzinak and liberated it for the Byzantines (also liberated some gold [Tribute] from the Greeks too!). The Khan expected the Zoros to send an army of assassins so to make things more challenging (along with CA ops of course), he threw out a cordon of guards (from elite units) a half mile around himself and his Heir with orders to challenge all comers to speak in Mongolian. Byzantine and Goths bringing tribute were dealt with by minor officials outside the cordon. Whether it was this, or just good Intel, no assassins got through to the Khan Altan. He sat there and thought "Lets see those Mithraic pigs grow wings and fly" and chuckled to himself...Afterwards the horde paid a visit to the Khirgiz and through horde diplomacy got them to join and that more than replenished their losses taken during the sack of Baki.

Alistar, Mark of Ispan, stayed in Navarre and continued the talks there. He was successful in bringing the region fully into the March. There also was a religious frenzy in the region of Andalusia that turned it into a religious trade center. Elsewhere old Lord Berinia, with Lord Predro at some diplomatic talks with the local lords of the region of Galacia, passed away in his sleep on one dark and stormy night. Fortunately he wasn't missed at the talks since he spent most of his time there just dozing at the table. Another new and inexperienced leader named Luis was administering in Andalusia, when one day he went to the beach for a swim. His corpse washed up the next day covered with weirdly shaped symbols, and with his loss the government was stretched too thin. To make matters worse the peace was shattered by a Viking invasion into the lightly defended region of Asturias and its city was sacked and everything not nailed down was carried off by the barbaric Northmen.
Old King Barnard was so old and tired that he absentmindedly forgot to issue any orders yet again! On top of that he happened to depart this life a senile and decrepit old man at the age of 79....
King Hans Ragnarson again did the same old same old "him ruling and his heir administrating" scenario, but he was also ready to defend his magnificent Kingdom. He was helped by Lord Ole Oleson administering until that excellent fellow rudely passed away of heart failure. This would have stretched the government past its limits if not for the infra increase.
This time Caesar Damianus II did do the required IMA (interfere in merchant affairs) and this time of course the merchants listened to him and trade routes changed to his satisfaction. Then he did the old "him ruling and his heir administrating" scenario in order to counter the Empire's problem with thin government. Elsewhere disturbing news that a new Heretic Christian church was forming in Connaught and consequently control over that region fell.
King Sarantino II again personally saw to the expansion of the multi-tier design of three cities that continue to look quite striking with its white marble walls and towers. He happily thought to himself that he should have been an architect instead of a King. He was so sidetracked that many of his leaders were left with nothing to do, and one of his leaders in Tiber happen to pass away under peculiar circumstances and his troops dispersed.
Grandmaster Eusebiys finished helping the Order move from North Africa to Sicily (with their tails between their legs), did a IMA, and closed Order houses in Kabilya and the city of Skikda, along with an Oratory in Merrakesh, he then retired to his chambers and passed at age 73 (to be forever known as a traitor to the Vandals, while within his brotherhood, he would be known as the one who gave his Order a second chance in Sicily). The Order also officially made peace with the Coptics and opened trade with them, and they accepted a gold shipment from Egypt (Judas gold), and the region of Pechneg from ERE.
Emperor Maximus ruled with grandeur, and despite the troubles he had with his heirs he fathered a few more at the relativity old age of 58. Lord Lucious finally got his troops under control and regrouped and was able to finish the late heir's orders and rid Malta of all Arian church influence. Lucious found there wasn't much left to loot that the tidal wave from the Vulcan Volcano hadn't destroyed years ago, afterward he returned home, but not before hearing some rumors that any fishermen that went to Vulcan Island never returned. Back home more rumors floated about the capital that the WRE had withdrawn from the Coptic war, or was it just that Egypt just didn't need their help anymore...Also late in 715 bad news arrived that pirates had attacked and taken Malta and its city, which was surprising since Lord Lucious saw the Pirate fleet flying Theban colors in the Bay of Tunis...
Patriarch Owen declared himself Pope as the Celtic Christian Church was one of the last few surviving Christian Churches in Europe. After that the Pope worried about whatever had killed his predecessor, Patriarch James, and had destroyed the Patriarch's ship, as there were reports that whatever did it had moved into the Viking Bank, and the Pope wondered if it was heading for the Island of Man. Not taking any chances, the Pope ordered a citadel built in the holy city of Iona when it was expanded. He also ordered some trade routes changed, but even churches need to do an IMA action before it can be done. After a couple of years, just as the ecclesiastical seat was starting to feel more comfortable for the new Pope on the papal throne, a troubling dispatch arrived with news that the regional church in Connaught had been burned by its local lords and worse yet a new Heretic Christian religion has arisen there...
The dawning of a new age meant the return to the old ways, as King Olaf Iversson boldly tried to expand his kingdom diplomatically as he personally tried to get the Isle of Orkney to leave the Danes (and as other leaders fail to pry away any regions or islands from the Danes), then by the sword as the Vikings to set sail once more to plague Europe!!!
King Fils ruled majestically over his new Kingdom, but he was more that a little perturbed that his fellow Northman would try to lure part of his Kingdom away from him. But on the other hand he was proud that his people has resisted the foolish usurpers and ordered that if the usurpers returned that they should be placed in chains and thrown into the deepest darkest dungeon and left to rot...

New Chief Eaglewing began his rule uneventfully but it would be some time before the mantle of chief would fit him comfortably. Within the first year he suffered a personal loss when his wife passed away during a brutal winter. He remarried in the spring and was soon blessed with a couple of children. A tornado touched down in Cayuga but did only some minor damage.
Chief Running Wolf stayed ready to react with his army to anybody that wanted their gold, but nobody came except for some prospectors who happen to swell their cities' population a little.
Chief Ten Bears returned his father's (Running Moose) body to the capital, and then formally received his chief feathers. He then had the Pelegian Church perform a Christian funeral and burial rites for his father. He also sent a leader and some troops to protect the new gold mine in Sangamon, and sent another leader with some ships to do an anti-pirate patrol the Lower Great Snake River.
Chief Ancient Oak just ruled (and had children) and his heir administered (with a couple of other leaders) quite peacefully and uneventfully.
Chief Hatawin died in 710 and was it unreported and not confirmed until 711 when his Son Hatawin II returned and was made chief. Chief Hatawin II wasted no time in getting married and begot a son before his new wife tragically died with their second child. He also took time to promote his son Hatawin III to become his heir, but was soon disappointed to find out that his young heir didn't seem to be good at anything...

Emperor Pryzaka decided to rule solo this time, and gave his heir the duty to DP Huave, which he successful accomplished. Again missionaries spread the word in a couple of regions within the Empire. Elsewhere Leader Peter Mahakii was preaching in Pisones until he was found dead on an old chac mul (alter) without a mark on him...
Patriarch Cullen ap Denez like his predecessor gave no orders as the church's gold and resources piled up. He kept himself shut away in his cambers, and wouldn't even deal with the news that a couple of church sites were looted. (Rumors spread that he was hiding from something...)

Emperor Gareth II ap Grania ac Mian for some strange reason, suddenly got tried of commanding the royal fleet, and foolishly gave command of it to Lord Wallace and the Emperor retired to the royal garden to hold court and rule. Elsewhere the island of Ciguayo was heavily damaged by a hurricane. Back in the royal garden the Emperor was soon joined by Lord Wallace and his men, he [Wallace] was dragging a man in chains with him, the man turned out to be the Emperor's Heir, and the Emperor was quickly slapped in chains too, just before they were thrown into the royal dungeon, Lord Wallace said to them: "I will keep you down there until my coronation, you will be there and see me crowned Emperor, that will be the last thing you see, for afterwards I will have your eyes burnt out". On the day of the coronation, Wallace was crowned Emperor, and his gave his order to burn out the eyes of his former Emperor. That was to be his last order as he fell dead with a dagger in his back, his assassin a Lord Gregory stepped forward and ordered Gareth II unchained and returned to the Throne.
They sailed upon the winds of a great storm on the fringes of the hurricane that struck Ciguayo, with their mainsail straining to break loose, Capt. Blackjack Sparrow just laughed crazily as his fleet of dark ships with black flags bearing the dreaded bone white skull and crossbones sailed unchallenged into the undefended harbor of New Scone. Pirates spilled forth from their ships into the un-walled city, the Captain yelled out "Shiver me timbers, we will teach these lilly-livered landlubbers the meaning of the word FEAR!". With no troops to oppose them, the pirates quickly started looting and slapping the city's inhabitants into chains. From the enslaved city, the pirates spilled out and meeting no resistance, soon controlled the region and enslaved it too. The new slaves were put to work rebuilding the looted region and city, as the pirates unload their families from their ships, to the Captain's greeting of a "well me hearties, welcome to your new home!!!"
Emperor Juan Valdez II still had far to go equal the legend his father had become. He stayed home and ruled quite well and kept expanding his empire. Elsewhere all was quiet except for some flooding damage in the region of Inca, and that Leader Chesmu return from exploring the Mochan Sea with some new rutters. OK I lied, the quiet was shattered by Lord Macchiato's death, his corpse was found on a stone alter (chac mul) and was bred dry and covered with geometric symbols; he had been in Arica on a diplomatic mission...
Chief Tovaro ruled and sent his natural born diplomat of a son and Heir to DP Tapayos and naturally he got them to be friendlier and got them to fully join the kingdom (the leader there that sucked so badly was sent home to a fate of forever cleaning the royal chamber pots...).
All gods dispense suffering without reason. Otherwise they would not be worshipped. Through indiscriminate suffering men know fear and fear is the most divine emotion. It is the stones for altars and the beginning of wisdom. Half gods are worshipped in wine and flowers. Real gods require blood, real gods require blood...
