The Spoils of War

 

When a war is ongoing against an NPN there is a chance that the NPN will surrender to the attacker. This chance is based on the following

 

·        The Defending NPNs Command Rating

·        The number of Friendly and Homeland Regions and Cities that are occupied

·        The number of Friendly and Homeland Cities that are besieged

·        The defeat of the national army.

 

Whenever a NPN is defeated by a player or another NPN the victor can claim the spoils of victory. In game terms this means that the victor can claim a number of Victory Spoils from the table below depending on the level of victory achieved. Some of these can be stacked so the effects would be cumulative. The GM will provide the number of spoils available.

Effect

Trade Embargo

The defeated NPN cannot trade with another nation for the duration.

Military Support

The defeated NPN must supply the other with an army or fleet for the duration of the peace. The army or fleet must be supplied with a leader of at least 5 comber rating. The recipient can use the army as FA for the duration and the supplier must replenish any lost units. For NPNs, the value of the army is 20% of its native army value in units (RRV*2+GPv+PWB/10 of all F and HM regions and cities).

Religious Union

Converts the King and his direct family. Missionary Actions and Raise/Lower Religious Strength Actions undertaken by the primary nation receive a bonus in the secondary.

Nations must be of Tolerant Religions.

Granted Estates

Allows a nation to Transfer a Region or City without the normal loss of Control Status.

Control Status can still be lowered due to Terrain, Culture, and Religious Limits. One shot.

Granted Men

Allows a nation to Transfer Troops to the second without penalty. The value of the army is 10% of its native army value in units (RRV*2+GPv+PWB/10 of all F and HM regions and cities).

Tithe

The defeated NPN must provide 10% of its income to the victor for the duration of the peace.

Primate/Order Relations

Allows one nation to transfer Primate/Order Influence to a second nation.
Both Nations must be the same Religion. Influence may not exceed nation’s Maximum. One Shot.

Grain

The defeated NPN must provide 25% of its income to the victor for the duration of the peace.

Increased Claim

Increase the control level of the NPN by one.

Force Personal Union

There must be an existing Royal Marriage between the two nations – may not be accepted

Force Vassalisation

The NPN becomes a Pacified Tributary of the victor – may not be accepted

Force change of Religion

The NPN’s hierarchy are forcibly converted to the victor’s religion – may not be accepted

 

Offering Tribute

 

If a Player Nation is attacked by an NPN it can offer tribute to the victor based on the table above. The GM will determine the number of spoils demanded by the victor.
