60 Second Summary
The Orient | |
Mercenary Troops | 10mc, 20mi, 15ms, 10mw |
Mercenary QRs | c03, s02, i03, w04 |
Mercenary Leaders | Yuang Xi (M???) |
United States of Asia (Yamato)
Ojunek, First Minister of the Diet
Diplomacy Anshan (nt), Mantap (nt), Suifenhe (c), Sikhote (c)
Several Japanese leaders courted the Choson Mon coastal regions. Being uncivilized and pagan, diplomatic progress was slow and torturous. These mainland barbarians did hideous things, like cook their fish, and worse yet, they don't take a bath every night.
Owari (named the same as the lieutenant who died last turn) got sent to find a way to get to Kazan Retto. For five long years he sailed the waters. Finally, late in 1045, he returned to Yamato, proudly presenting the charts to Ojunek, his mission accomplished.
Unsatisfied with the nation's already-stratospheric ITV, Ojunek ordered another massive round of city expansion: Jenna, Anjiro, Edo, Kobi, Kentosani, Ise, and Heian expanded. Yamaguchi received dozens of projects to improve productivity.
The Kingdom of Mongolia
K218, Kucha Khan
Diplomacy Mongol Khan (f)
Khul talked with the Mongol Khan for five years, and he finally agreed to fully join the naiton. Open for a Player.
The Kutai Horde
K725, Kutai Khan
Diplomacy Naiman Horde (fa)
Deep in the heart of Eastern Siberia, food was getting scarce. All the grasslands north of Lu'an were becoming overgrazed. Too many mouths to feed, both human and domesticated horse and sheep. It was time to move. A great mass of humanity gathered in Kutai, and a leader came to the fore, K725. He led them west into Naiman Horde territory.
The Naiman Khan met with K725 and agreed to a feudal alliance. Karatao is the current encampment for the host of over fifty thousand mostly light horsemen. Open for a Player.
Mao Chaing II, Supreme Monarch of Lu'an
Diplomacy Kin (c), Tumet (ne)
Mao Cheng trained his son Mao Chaing II. "Mao Chaing, the civil war weakened our great nation. But in time we will recover. Be patient and wise." Mao Cheng trained a nice batch of horsemen to replace some of the losses from the civil war. Then he died. His son took over without incident.
Diplomacy continued in the stubborn northern regions. Chan Seh had orders not to negotiate Tumet to any higher than NT status, which was odd, considering they were already NT.
The royal road was extended from Tsing'dao to Tsainan.
The Shensi Chinese Kingdom
Qin Guan, King of China
Diplomacy None
Qin Guan took a break.
The Chin Kingdom
Che Teh, Divine Overlord of the Middle-Kingdom, Lord of the River
Diplomacy None
The Dalai Lama sent a nice little present to help the Ch'in university. Che Teh spent the money on a new library for the study of healing, as well as adding some texts from India and the Islamic nations to the other libraries.
Che Teh spent a lot of time in Hupei doing more boring paperwork, and wishing he were young again. He wished he could trade with Java, but the Javan capital is too far away. The imperial heir, Che Wei, found himself a bride among the upper levels of the Ch'in nobility. At his father's recommendation, he started a family. His new wife bore him a son and a daughter.
In Fukien, the Kienchou Lord tried to woo the region into closer ties with the empire. But allied leaders cannot get regions to go above allied. Lord Fukien showed Lord Kienchou section 6.1.4 of the rules supplement to prove his point.
Che Teh ordered regional improvements spread throughout the empire. A shiny new city, Mukden, sprang up in Tangchou. More citizens moved into Amoy, Wontan, Taishan, Jiujiang, Lin'an, and Chenjing.
Bacphan Zhuangzu
Fei-Tsu Han, Overlord of South China
Diplomacy Nan Chao (a)
Fei-Tsu Han concentrated most of his time on internal matters. The just-conquered region of Nam Pung was released to steer its own course once more. And the beautiful plains of Nan Chao, tucked up into the foothills, were added in a fully allied relationship.
Cities increased: Hong Kong, Tonkin, and Fujian.
The Celestial Kingdom of the Jade Buddha
Po Yin "the Generous", 5th Incarnation of the Blessed Jade Buddha, Light on the Path to Nirvana, Illuminator of the Human Soul, Thinker of Deep Thoughts, Mayor Shangri-La
Diplomacy Kwangsi (ne)
Po Yin sent some gold to Ch'in, Shensi, and Luan to bolster their universities. The only religious site that was attempted was in Kwangsi, but the abbey in that region would not take hold. The abbey in Hopei died of isolation.
Conversion efforts in Bhutan were unsuccessful.
The Pacific Rim and Southeast Asia | |
Mercenary Troops | 10mc, 20mi, 10ms, 20mw |
Mercenary QRs | c03,s04,i03,w03 |
Mercenary Leaders | Harona (M???) |
The Katoomba Riders
K863, Chief Hee Nalu-sen
Diplomacy None
Sea Fisher was happy when his first son H863 came of age. And good thing, too, because Sea Fisher died in September of 1045. Allul expanded. Open for a Player.
The Molucca Seahold
Te Rangi, Arikara of the Molucca Te Anu
Diplomacy None
Te Rangi worked on internal matters. Suddenly, the GM noticed that Molucca is a seafaring nation, and therefore cannot have wilderness regions at a higher status than feudal allied. But Te Rangi didn't want any more allies, so Palau, Sabah, Sulawesi, and Timor [yes, that's where the Indonesians were killing off some of the locals in Lords 0 ] degraded to non-paying tributary. Open for a Player.
The Javan Federation
Jarobono, President Sirivjavan
Diplomacy Perak (ne), Bali (t)
Jarobono's economic programs earned him reelection for another term as President. The locals in Perak explained once again that given Java's religious strength and the fact the Hinduism is hostile toward Buddhism, their status cannot rise above economic ally. But Jarobono is working on that. The slow conversion of the population of Perak continued.
Sunda and Singhasari got bigger again. Regional improvements made Pajajaran a richer region.
The United Monarchy of the Avans
The Celestial, Virtuous, and Benignant King Phunim, Monarch of all Burmese People, Munificent Potentate of Pegu, Dispenser of all Avan Goodness and Benevolence
Diplomacy Mon (f), Nakhon (a), Siam (f)
Ram Vu, the heir to the kingdom, went to Mon to woo them. He spent a lot of time there, and even married the local honcho's ugly daughter. They had a little girl.
Phunim is unhappy with his trade income, so he ordered cities upsized: Pagan, Honan Phen, Narathu, and Thaurin.
India | |
Mercenary Troops | 15mc, 15mi, 15ms, 13mw |
Mercenary QRs | c04, s04, i04, w02 |
Mercenary Leaders | Saees (M???) |
Palankala
Kalimbo, Guardian of the Ganges, Divine Wrath of Kali
Diplomacy None
Kanamori was tired. Very tired. After his death, Kalimbo took over.
Xanthi Empire of Xanadu
Palpatyn IV, Grand Poobah of the Xanthi Zieterund, Rajah of the Rajputs
Diplomacy None
Palpatyn IV sent some of his leaders to work on converting the Buddhists in Assam back to Hindus. Palpatyn had rather hoped that Palankala leaders would be helping out, but the conversion efforts made good progress anyway.
A strange illness swept through the Xanthi leadership. The heir Palpatyn V died. Then Palpatyn IV died as well. Prince Mikal became regent for the 6-year-old Palpatyn VI.
Palpatyn IV had wanted a bigger ITV. So Mikal ordered new citizens for Kyoko, Amchan, Madoka, Reichan, Limu, Beth, and Lyssa. He still has a long way to go to catch up to Ch'in and Japan.
The Chola Mandalam
Mujahid, Mandala Chola
Diplomacy Kakatiya (t), Maldives (f), Sri Lanka (t), Madurai (ea)
Cholan diplomats were hard at work, and got good results in Maldives and Kakatiya.
The Sri Lanka Raj died, and his region became tributary. The Raj of Madurai also fell ill suddenly, with faint purple blotches appearing on his body. He died soon after. Apparently this illness goes around every once in a while in India. They call it the wahtohkay bug. Madurai became economic allied.
Banavasi grew larger. Open for a Player.
Sultanate of Sind
Nasser, Mansurashah, Protector of the Indus, Barrier of Allah
Diplomacy None
Rashid's heir Nasser came of age in 1044. Then Rashid died. Nasser took over without incident.
Naheef thanked the Raj of Sahis for showing him Table 2-21, and wondered why Sultan Rashid hadn't bothered to check the rulebook before sending him into a Hindu region. Then Naheef thought of a different tack (as the de facto foreign minister for the Sultan, he had to come up with a lot of the ideas himself; Rashid cared about war and maneuvers and not a whole lot else): Naheef tried swaying them over to Islam. He remained in the city, discussing religion with the leading families and the local rishis. But his efforts were not well-received.
Rashid began to suspect that Sayyarah didn't take his duties seriously enough, and gave him something else to do, instead of leading the infantry on patrols. So Sayyarah ended up in the mountains of Ghazni, to look for who knows what --- UFO's, bigfoot, crazy Hindu terrorists. Sayyarah didn't like the mountains; just a bunch of hillbillies up there. After being there for a while, he died of boredom.
Rashid ordered the extension of the Royal Road road from Sind to Sukkur.

The Shahdom of Merv
Uthman alSaidar, Shah of Bactria
Diplomacy Khurasan (c), Transoxania (fa), Ferghana (c), Bactria (t), Turkmen (fa), Bokhara (c)
Ali ben-Kharj borrowed a few thousand horsemen from Uthman and went raiding. Tabaristan and Gurgan each yielded a small quantity of slaves, which were herded back to Kara-Khitai. Hopefully they will be of some help developing the economy. Although anti-horde defenses are needed just as badly if not worse.
A fortress now defends the fields of Otrar.
The Liao Horde
Petor, Khan of the Liao, Hand of the Prophet, Scourge of the Saracen, Benevolent Destroyer
Diplomacy None
Petor headed east, hoping to gain some much-needed allies. In Betpak, his talks with the local khan went poorly. The Khan of Betpak attacked, wiping out the Liao.
The Betpak Horde
K765, Khan of Betpak
Diplomacy None
After destroying Liao, K765 assembled his dozen thousand mostly light cavalry in Betpak and prepared to ride. Open for a Player.
The Abbasid Caliphate
Mu'hammid Al'rahi, Kaliphat Rasul Allah
Diplomacy None
Saeb conducted a census, greatly improving the gold and nfp production of the nation. Mu'hammid was greatly saddened by the malaria-inflicted death of his toddler son, but he did father a girl and another boy.
Taxes on international trade provided Mu'hammid with a very nice stack of cash. In fact, the Abbasid trade income dwarfs the total income of most other nations. It's good to sit right smack dab in the middle of so many trade routes.
Hamadan, Basra, Aljaz, Kamizak, and Bushehr expanded. In Crete, on the Ionian Sea, there is a new port city, Ramallah, with a fortress at its center.
Imam Al Muslim
Abrahm, Siadat Kuran, "The Sustainer"
Diplomacy Baghdad (mn), Mesopotamia (ca), Hahmar (mn), Murcia (ne), Granada (ca), Faiyun (ne), Hamadan (ab), Raja (ne), Basra (ab)
Abrahm continued his major site-building push. He was glad to see the reunification of Almoravid without too much devastation. Allah willing, the same will be said for Cordoba soon.
The Fatimid Empire of Egypt
Harum el Hadad, Guardian of the Holy Places, Emperor of Egypt.
Diplomacy None
On his sick bed, Jafan Amal remembered something from 25 years ago. "Harum," he called to his son, "there is an abode of evil in Levant. I forgot about it. You must return to it and destroy it now. The time is right." Jafan told Harum where to find the place, and what magic words to speak to gain entrance. His energy spent, Jafan died, and Harum took over without incident. After years of neglect and decay, he opened the treasury and increased the defenses and the public works of the realm. In a demonstration of his generosity, Harum gave away the surplus agro to the peasants.
Harum sent Memet Oman with ten thousand infantry and ten thousand heavy infantry to Levant. Memet found the same rocky gulley and arranged his men. He spoke, "Open Sesame," and the rock wall opened, spewing dust. Without hesitation, dozens of warriors poured into the hole. From the inky blackness, the cave's occupants struck at them with spear, sword, and arrow. Many of Egypt's finest warriors were struck down. But their numbers were beyond overwhelming compared to the few brave defenders. Within an hour, the location was secured.
Harum ordered the recorders to sketch the contents of the cave, then poured oil onto the floor and set the place ablaze. When the fire stopped, the Egyptians towed and levered a ten-ton boulder into the entrance to block it. Levant is now free of the evil menace.
Fortresses were added to Egypt, Mansura, Thebes, Levant, and Syria.

Mercenary QRs | i03, c03, s03, w03 |
Mercenary Leaders | Shasa Natarov (M???) |
The Rus Empire of Anatolia
Boyar Izjaslav, The First Czar of Rus Anatolia
Diplomacy None
Boyar turned his attention to the only remaining Eastern Roman Empire fragments in Anatolia: Lydia and Troy. With an army of over twenty thousand infantry, the undefended Lydians were quickly crushed. After leaving a suitable garrison, he returned to Bithnia to finish off Troy. The assault was quick and not too messy. The enemy general, Isaac Murzuphlus, was assasinated. Only a thousand infantry and a low dirt rampart defended the city.
On the other side of the Black Sea, the feudal allies from Polovotsy, Atelzuko, and Patzinak combined their ten thousand light cavalry for a lightning attack on Crimea. Their orders were to pacify the region, but as feudal allies, they were unwilling to leave a garrison. So they forced tribute from Crimea and left to return to their regions.
Boyar gave Derzinski several thousand settlers and told him to go colonize Phrygia and Galatia. Derzinski headed east, intent on his mission. Then he realized that he didn't have any troops, and the native armies of the regions would kill him and his settlers if his attempted to take all the good land from them. So he went back to Bithnia.
The Eastern Roman Empire
Emperor Nikolas, Augustus of the Romans, Basileus of the Hellens, Supreme Among the Princes of Christendom, Equal of the Apostles, God's Own Anointed Vice-Gerent on Earth
Diplomacy Rhodes (nt)
Justin sacked most of his lieutenants and administrators to reduce government support costs. The Russian army swarmed across Anatolia, conquering the last imperial holdings there.
Justin was heartsick at his empire's suffering. His died of sorrow and despair in February of 1044. His son Nikolas is the new Emperor. Desperate for some cash, Nikolas courted Rhodes for a few months and was rewarded with a non-paying tributary agreement. Open for a Player.
The Patriachate of Constantinople
Ephorus, Ecumenical Patriarch of The Holy Orthodox Catholic Apostolic Eastern Church
Diplomacy Constantinople (hc)
Ephorus has resolved to become more active in defense of the Orthodox Church.
The Byzantine Empire
K377, Imperator Romanus Orientalis
Diplomacy Yeah, with my sword and spear!
Theodore didn't move against Constantinople. He watched while Nikolas' empire crumbled. Instead, Theodore sent Lord Alexander and the Prince of Bulgaria to do battle in the Balkans. With a combined force of over ten thousand, the Byzantines stormed into Serbia to pacify the region. The locals were crushed by weight of numbers. Next on the list: the Serbian city of Ochirida. After searching around for a month or so, Alexander finally found out that Ochirida had been destroyed many decades ago by a nomadic horde. "Oh, well," he thought, "What's my next objective?" It was Bosnia. During the pacification of Bosnia, the Byzantines took few losses, but a stray arrow ended Alexander's life, and left the Byzantine army with no leaders other than the Prince of Bulgaria. The Prince did not have instructions to take over the empire's army as his own, so he left for home, knowing that his small force would be no match for Ludgorie. The remaining Byzantines are garrisoning Bosnia.
The Prince of Dobruja took his few thousand infanty north to cross the Danube and attack Ialomita, to try to force tribute from them. They were all destroyed with ease by the local lord and his five thousand swordsmen.
In 1042 Theodore died, and his unnamed son K377 became the new emperor. K377 has resolved to strengthen the empire economically, and to make a name for himself. Get it? Make a name for himself? Wocka, wocka, wocka!
K255, the Wanderer, King of Russia
Diplomacy Tver (fa)
K255 allowed Tver to degrade to feudal allied in an effort to reduce the kingom's bulk.
The Polish Kingdom
Marko Brodzinski, King of Poland
Diplomacy Bavaria (a), Pomern (ne), Bohemia (a), Galich (ne)
L969 set off to slave raid the Baltic wilderness. The target regions were Danzig, Prussia, Musa, and Courland. Another slave raid occured in the south (Ialomita and Walachia), at the hands of the Moldavian feudal ally.
Polish diplomats met with mixed success, bringing Bavaria and Bohemia into close contact with the empire.
Marko ordered the Galich ally to use some of his slaves for regional improvements in Poland, but the ally refused, insisting to keep them for himself. The cities of Stuttgart , Warsaw, and Gdansk expanded.

Denmark
Altan, Imperator Danmark
Diplomacy Holland (a)
Halfner kicked out the expensive bishop without even so much as a thank you. And he ask Pope Innovent V not to send any more bishops or administrators.
Svien drew the short straw. "Svien," said Halfner, "I have a special mission for you."
"That's great, your majesty."
"I want you to take a small fleet of transports and warships north, with some horses, and sell the horses in Gronland for 30 chest of gold."
"Huh. I didn't think today was April 1st..."
"I'm quite serious. I've got a buyer lined up."
"Who? How do I know where Gronland is? All we know is from the old Viking legends..."
"Silence! You will go to Gronland and sell the horses! And bring the money to me!"
"Yes, your majesty."
Still puzzled, Svien gathered up his expedition. He sailed his ten warships, two transpots, and a little bit of infantry and cavalry across the Viking Bank to the Shetlands. Then they embarked northwest through uncharted waters. They were never seen again.
Forkbeard got Holland to fully allied, even though the Lord of Holland was a bit miffed that Forkbeard tried to arrange a royal marriage. Only kings and heirs can do that.
In 1044, Halfner died and was succeeded by his son Altan.
Grand Duchy of Verona
Leonardo Maquina, Grand Duke of Verona, Defender of Italy, Chosen of Christ, Shepherd of the Faithful
Diplomacy Verona (un)
Going downhill. Leonardo kicked out a few Papal administrators to cut costs. Open for a Player.
The Lombard Kingdom of Italy
Ludovico Orsini, Rex Sognari
Diplomacy Verona (a)
Ludovico sent another large diplomatic mission to Verona. They were very successful, forging a full alliance. With this key region back in Lombard control, Italian reunification is almost accomplished.
Milan and Genoa got bigger. In Savoy, settlers laid down stone and wood to create the city of Turin.
The Roman Catholic Papacy
Innocent V, Il Papa, Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Christ
Diplomacy None
Innocent prayed for five straight years. Religious sites in Flanders, Lorraine, and Saxony degraded because they weren't linked to Rome.
Soloman II, King of Turquis, Champion of the True Faith, Lord of the Franks
Diplomacy None
Soloman cooled his heels in Ile de France for five years.
K669, Thunder Lord, Khagan of the Khitan
Diplomacy None
Deep under the surface of the earth, under the region called Flanders, there has been a local hot spot in the magma for hundreds of years now. Nothing significant on a geological scale, just a small column of magma that is hotter than the surrounding area, and rising slowly towards the surface. Unfortunately for Flanders, this tends to cause a thin spot in the earth's crust.
In June of 1041, a farmer in Flanders noticed large cracks appearing in his formerly flat field. A few days later, there was a definite dome shape beginning to rise from the land. Despite prayers and even an exorcism, the earth continued to well up to a height of forty feet. Near the end of July, the top blew off the dome with a roar, and some sort of thick, liquid fire gushed out the top.
The volcano spewed molten rock into the air for a few days, then calmed down to more of a river of lava. This continued for the next three years, and the amount of flow was high enough to overrun some of Flander's dikes and canals.
K669 ordered a few more public works for Anglia. Open for a Player.
Ummayad Caliphat Al Cordoba
Asad Nasir, Caliph al Cordoba, Infidels Bane
Diplomacy None
In 1041, Asad Nasir announced that he was stepping down in favor of his son Mustapha. The disloyal general Majid took this opportunity to declare himself Caliph, and Asad and Mustapha had to flee the from Murcia. The leader of Gebel-al-Tarik joined forces with Majid. New Castille, Old Castille, Leon, and Catalonia went neutral.
A couple of leader orders fell through the cracks during the chaos, most notably the help for the Algerian Caliphate in their war of reunification.
A few more public works were added to Andalusia.
Caliphate al Murcia
Majid, Caliph al Murcia, Infidels Bane
Diplomacy None
Majid announced his intention to reunite the Iberian penninsula under his leadership.

Mercenary Troops | 8mc, 12mi, 4ms, 10mw |
Mercenary QRs | c02, s03, i04, w03 |
Mercenary Leaders | T'Nola (M???) |
The Algerian Caliphate
K691, "Zaban Nogreh", Lord of the Rif, Lion of Morocco, Sword of the Prophet
Diplomacy None
K691ordered his kingdom into swift action in order to reunify the two factions. He hired T'Nola and his five thousand mixed cavalry and infantry to add to K691's own army of well over ten thousand. In phase one of the operation, L445 took several dozen warships to Valencia to pick up troops from Cordoba, while K691 advanced towards Morroco.
Due to unforeseen circumstances in Cordoba, no help was forthcoming. So L445 proceeded with his warship-only force to Casablanca. The two-pronged attack began, with L445 asaulting Casablanca with his warships, while K691 crossing the Moyen (Middle) Atlas to attack into Morroco. In Morroco, K691 found himself facing a large number of field fortifications. Working as quickly as possible, it still took a few months to root them all out, and it cost him five thousand men. In the meantime, L445's assault on Casablanca went well, with Casablance falling at a cost of less than ten warships. L445 couldn't secure Merrakesh with only warships, so he moved on to Morroco.
As soon as L445 got there, K691 ordered him to guard the coastline during the assault on the inland capital of Fez. Fez' defenses were little better than Casablanca's with a small wall and only a thousand siege engineers to defend them. Less than three thousand of K691's force perished during the victory. K691 had Sa'id al'Farad killed for treason, and the Caliphate al'Moravid collapsed. K691 topped of his accomplishments by taking a quick trip to Merrakesh to return the region to Algerian control.
The Caliphate AlMoravid
Sa'id al'Farad, "Zaban Nogreh", Lord of the Rif, Lion of Morocco, Sword of the Prophet
Diplomacy None
Algerian armies swarmed into Al'Moravid, capturing Morocco and Fez. The End.
The Songhai Herdsmen
K1A3, Chieftain of the Herds
Diplomacy None
Haula died in May of 1041, and his son H1A3 came to power. The Prince Abasi tried to sieze the throne, but could not gain anyone's support, and was hanged for his treachery.
In early fall of 1043, after a particularly dry spring and summer, two workers at a shop in Timbuctu had a falling out. They argued for half an hour before the older one grabbed a knife and threatened to kill the younger if he ever came back. The younger one left, then came back late at night and set the place ablaze. It took too long for anyone to notice, and too long for the fire department to arrive. Within hours, the city was an inferno. It was almost erased from the map.
Some much needed public works were built in Songhai.
The Kingdom of Tchad
Bob, King of the Dead, Omar Kanembu
Diplomacy None
Bob still felt tired, so he took some more time off. Open for a Player.
Kinnsasha expanded.
Kingdom of Nigeria
E559, Regent for the Emperor of Benin, Darkknife
Diplomacy Kinshasa (c)
K556 bit the dust, and his eldest son is too young. So L559 became regent for him. Open for a Player.
Great Zimbabwe
Lorkaunk, Shaka Zulu
Diplomacy Banhine (ea)
Lorkaunk and Segraso went to Banhine to woo the region. Even though Segraso died in 1042, the region still appreciated the attention and agreed to an economic alliance.
A few improvements were added in Banhine. Gold rush! In Transkei, the discovery of gold has brought more population to the city of Usayo. The region now contains a trade center.

The Sonoma Kingdom
Winter Eagle, King of Sonoma
Diplomacy None
Another massive grain giveaway improved the lives of the populance.
Albion and Mokelumne expanded. The five cities of Albion, Tharsis, Ursa Majoris, Ursa Minoris, and Mokelumne now put all others to shame. Manpower and technological progress are both in great supply in Sonoma. Just in case anyone gets greedy, the cities got nice walls.
Anasazi Republic
Slithey Tove, Chief Executive of the High Desert
Diplomacy Tahue (nt)
Some public works in Chaco added a nice touch. Conversion efforts in Tahue are finally starting to reach fruition. But the region declined to non-paying when its leader died.
The Iroquois Nation
Red Stone, Prime Chief of the Council
Diplomacy Gronland (t)
Red Stone gave Big Bear Chaser 30 chest of gold and an odd mission.
"Go to Gronland. There, you will be met by foreigner with horses, ..."
"Horses? What's that?"
"Don't interrupt. Use this gold to buy the horses, then bring them back here."
"O.K."
Big Bear Chaser waited a while for the foreigners to show up, but they didn't. It was cold. Damn cold. One morning in February of 1043, Big Bear Chaser spit out some tobacco juice, and his frozen spittle bounced off a rock. That was the last straw. His took off south with the gold, and no one knows where he is now.
The cities of Cahokia and Kolomoki grew larger again. Colonists streamed into Abitibi, bumping it up to 1 GPv.
The Aztec Empire
Ometepec, God-Emperor, Divine Ruler of Mexico
Diplomacy Kekchi (c), Cuyutec (a), Maya (t)
Ometepec conducted a census of the citizens of his sprawling empire. Many public works and some brilliant diplomacy by Calliacatl (before his untimely death) brought Maya into a tributary relationship. In Popoluca, the Chief of Achi was kicked out. It seems the Popolucans have not forgotten that the tribute they pay is a result of conquest, not diplomacy.
The Aztec advanced from PreColumbian technology to Barbarian.
The Andean Incan Empire
Pachamac, Emperor of the Heavens
Diplomacy Boruca (un)
Pachamac began by naming his son Kasqui heir to the throne. He then decreed that the people of Boruca, being far removed from the empire and worshipping different gods, should lead themselves. He then settled down to rule the nation, taking time to try to further his line.
Public works were sprinkled, nay, spread liberally, throughout the empire.
Quiro Mapuche
Marok, the Chosen
Diplomacy None
Marok ruled his kingdom, and named his eldest son, Matarok, as his heir. The lieutenants and prince were given some time off to reward them for their efforts at exploration and city expansion.
New citizens moved into Kniso again.
