LORDS OF THE EARTH | |
CAMPAIGN X | |
Turn #108 | Age of Imperialism |
1571-1573 Anno Domini | Renaissance Era |
Transition to V6: I'm still finding some areas to clarify. Be sure to check the Lords X Rules web links. Improving Regions: ME 3.3.2 discusses how to improve conquered Pre-Columbian regions. There are no more Pre-Columbian nations to conquer, so, this rule is useless in Lords X. Land vs Sea Action Points: If you are moving into a Sea Zone (or arrow or hex) or into a port from a Sea Zone, you can use your Ship based action points. Otherwise, you must use Land based action points. Several people trying to spend 66ap Ruling simply because they have a Ship of the Line in their troops there in their port capital. Exploring: After turn 109, you'll need to have rutters for all waterways you are moving or trading through. Leaders will not move into waterways that aren't known, except with the Explore action. Capital: Several actions now must be conducted in the national capital. ABD, AD, BOR, CC, HC, ILY, IMA, RET, Rule Cities: While I know where most regions are, but I don't know where your cities are. When listing cities in builds or notes, mention the region its in. Garrisons: I may have placed unusually large garrisons in some of the regions you pacified. Trading With Nations Overland: BR 5.2.1 - this rule is changed in Lords X. Trib or better is needed. Nations have until the end of Turn 109 to correct or see the route closed. Modify Troops: We are now using BR 7.2.4.37. |
Economic Information: New changes to treasury limitations, gold transfers, and a new rule to voluntarily reduce your own tax rate. Counter Intel: Counter Intel can't be used to counter Counter Intel, since CI is not a hostile operation. You would need to have the enemy infiltrated to cancel their CI ops. Project Backslide: Projects will no longer backslide after this turn. Guiding Foreign Armies: Gone are the days when you could say "So-and-so has freedom to move in my kingdom." You must guide an army with a National Leader, not by simply noting permission in your orders. See BR 10.13. Investments: Maximum per turn is 9,999.9gp. Inking Maps: We are now using Lords 28 rules for rutters and inking maps. See 7.2.4.26 Explore. Order form: Use the spreadsheet posted on the Rules web page. No other form of orders will be accepted. I'm going to try to work with them, without printing this time. Mercenary Garrisons: Mercenaries will not garrison regions or cities, unless they have been contracted for the following turn, too. Mercenary Losses: Mercenaries will loose twice as many units, casualties and deserters, when used outside of their GeoZone. Merc Commanders: See Lords X house rules regarding their use. As BR 7.1.9 states, these are noted war-Leaders or diplomats. We have been living with immortal leaders for too long. |

Kano(fa)
Mohammed improved the lines of communications around the Emirate, bringing a tighter grip to all territories under his control. The royal road extended to Ibadan in Oyo. Ships would see new advances in navigation skills learned from his neighbors. Grains from the Fulani heartland were transported to the Medici as well as his Islamic brothers in Almoravid and WHOMPCO.
In the spring of 1572, having lived a long life, 73 year old Mohammad II passed away. Tren

N'Chaka, Dowan's 19 year old son, was assigned a post in the government. His brother Ito'kbe took several galleys loaded with marines to Walvis Bay, where he was able to secure an alliance.

THE GREAT ZIMBABWE
T'Cham'Ki, Chief of Zimbabwe, Holder of the Five Twin Jackal Chair
Diplomacy: Vaal(nt) Lesser Zimbabwe(t)
T'Cham'Ki cleared the jungle from Melela. He then marched to Vaal to wear his kittel and wed the daughter of the Zulu tribesmen under a chupa. Returning to Great Zimbabwe, the chief ordered the merchants around and granted a monopoly of hides to il Sindacato. Late in 1573 a son was born to T'Cham'Ki.
M'Aaron successfully conducted a census while M'Ben investigated Softsmelt and Matabele. Basuli'tic worked on converting Mombassa. Gor'guni, along with Davidamba of Kilwa, took twenty carracks and an equal number of caravels across the sea to slave raid the jungles of Betismarsaka before his death at the age of 44.
Men were sent to dig ditches in Ruvama and finally, the port and island of Zanzibar were ceded to the French.
THE KRAKAS EMPIRE OF AETHIOPIA
Samuil I, Alem 'Elum, Emperor of Aethiopia
Diplomacy: Harar(F) Khartum(nt) Omdurman(nt) Ganeti(fa) Bornu(+3yfc)
The Cataracts at Atbara were dredged and smoothed. Walls were expanded around the fortress in the homeland and at Thebes, also around Soba and Amada. A new citadel was built with the new walls around Bur Sudan. As far as military increases, more than 50 Draken were built in the Capital. 2 First rank Ships of the Line were launched, along with several 3rd ranks, heavy frigates, and 25 corvettes at Bur Sudan.
Kassan gathered all of the empire's miscellaneous garrisons to Samuil and then hustled up to lead the Fleet at Bur Sudan.
THE SULTANATE of IEST
Imad ibn Khalid, Sultan of Mahidia
Diplomacy: Turbah(A) Akrakos(t)
The Sultanate expanded religious operations and trade range. Field fortifications were demobilized in As Sidrah and Ad Diffah in order to begin the construction of a railroad extending from the capital. Tripoli was expanded and several merchants were funded as Imad ibn Khalid meddled in their affaires. Missionaries were fairly successful in areas where they were supported by the Sultan. Lieutenant Ibrahim offered the hand of Nada, daughter of Imad to aid diplomacy in Akrakos.
Saxonia and the Hidden Dragon were allowed to pass ships through Necho's Canal, under careful scrutiny of trickery. Hefty amounts of gold was paid for this right.
The Byzantine Empire was allowed to base their troops and fleet in all Iesti regions. The SBB and WHOMPCO were freely allowed to build merchant sites in Iesti, but all other were encouraged to negotiate any rights.
Lieutenant Salman was allowed to marry the Sultan's daughter Malak, elevating him to a Prince for his contributions to the nation. He marched his fifteen thousand men and horse from the gates of Chah Bahar through the Burning Sword lands. It took him a bit longer than expected because he had no guides. [see new BR 10.13] He arrived in Akata to take up his new command of an additional twenty-five thousand.
Prince Ismael sailed from As Sidrah and Malaga, ferrying troops to Prince Suleiman, before joining the Emir of Petra, in April 1572. They sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to Carib where they resupplied. In the spring of 1573 they took on more men from the garrison and sailed up the coast... [See Kornland]
On a sea far, far away, Lieutenant Abu sailed to Omarra where he picked up a couple heavy frigates and continued on to the coast of Arabia. "We should be at Denjuba about oh-two-hundred hours." He understood that Denjuba was Coptic. Mentioning this to his cabin boy, "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good
cannon under your deck, kid." The clouds were thick that evening. "Stand by, here we go. Set the halyard and lower sails." Shouting from the crows nest was the first indication that there was trouble; the second was the ominous rocking of the boat - the waves were too high. As the clouds parted, the sailors saw the rocks. "What the...? Aw, we've sailed off course to the wrong shore. Some kind of beam sea from unseen reefs. It's not on any of the charts." The cabin boy said "What's going on?" Abu checked his sextant, "Our position is correct, except... no, Denjuba!" "What do you mean? Where is it?" "That's what I'm trying to tell you, kid. It ain't there. It's been
totally blown away." "What? How?" Lieutenant Marwan Abbas moved up to the wheelhouse behind the cabin boy as the ship began to settle down, "Destroyed...by the Safajah!"
THE ALMORAVID EMIRATE of ANDALUSIA
Marwan al Saldin ibn Anbar, Emir as Sevilla
Diplomacy: Kazmedina(t) Porto(c) New Toledo(ea) Jean(ea) Idjil(F)
The Emir copied the rutters for the Cape of Good Hope, the Gambian Sea, and the West Wind Drift, sending them off to Iesti. Fishing fleets were sent into the Sea of Dogs and off the Awlil Coast. Sevilla doubled the size of its shipyards and saw the first wooden steam battleship ever constructed.
Crown Prince Walid al Saldin took a bride in Kazmedina and secured tribute with the assistance of Lieutenant Chakib Khalil.
CASABLANCA WESTERN HAWALA OVERSEAS MERCHANT PROTECTIVE COMPANY
Kasim, Merchant of Casablanca
Capitalization: Krasnik(ma) Ar Rokki(BO)
WHOMCO gained added leadership and artillery skills. Vic converted several internal fleets into light transports, while expanding the docks at Tenerife. Josif of Cyprus died in 1572 leading to the dissolution of their alliance. This pushed all of the agents in the area to rely on the factory in Issauria. After removing the garrison from Arawak, Vic Torlazlo commanded that it would be ceded to the Basra Traders along with Ras Salaam.
Clients were paid and new trade routes were initiated before Vic died in 1571, leaving Prince Hec and Prince Kasim to determine who would lead the House. Kasim won that bet.

THE KINGDOM OF MORAY
Alasdair Mac Donald of Islay, ifth Lord of the Isles, Lord of Argyll and Kintyre, Earl of Ross, Captain of Clan Donald, Ri Innse Gall
Diplomacy: Hebrides(ea)
Alasdair married a Hebrides noblewoman, and assisted by Conan and Conleth, secured an economic alliance. Conan died in 1572. The ifth Lord pronounced that his younger brother Douglas would be his heir presumptive. Without Alasdair ruling, the small kingdom could not hold onto the fringe regions of Hebrides and Lothian. Strathclyde barely remained.
THE SULTANATE OF INGLAND
Dharr Ralif ibn Abdullah, Sword of Sayyidina Ali
Diplomacy: None
Crown Prince Tireless in Faith publicly announced his surrender to France. With new titles and lands in both Ingland and France, he gladly turned on his family. [See Norman France, Medici, Thaery]
THE KINGDOM OF NORMAN FRANCE
Francoi le Faible, Regent to the Kings of the Saxons and of the Normans, Count of Blois
Diplomacy: Zanzibar City(c) Anglia(c)
Francoi saw improvements in his beaurocracy, intelligence, and even assassins. Several ships were built, notably 25 frigates at Barcelona and 5 1st rank ships of the line at Rouen. Ground was broken on new dockyards as well.
The widow Princess Francesca de Medici married Michelle de Montaigne of Tours. This had two immediate effects: Tours joined the Empire and Michelle became a Prince of the realm. Francoi insisted that the Dynasty would continue through Robert's lineage as long as he is lives, ruling Norman France until Tiphani takes the throne.
Trade was initiated with Rajput, Chalukyas, far off Paraiba, and around the Cape of Africa to Zimbabwe. Lieutenant Valmont sailed to Zanzibar to conduct diplomacy. The Zimbabwe people appreciated not being pacified.
On the other side of the world Lieutenant LeRoi Jones loaded up 20 transports with gold and men at LaRochelle in order to sail to the Caribbean island of Ciboney. He expected to meet up with Mediterranean mercenaries, but they did not show. This was bad. With no military support and no port to take safe harbor, he attempted to talk with the natives who were formerly in the beginnings of talks with the Sultanate of Ingland. They had heard vague rumors that France had destroyed the Sultanate and so looked with extreme distrust at LeRoi and the colonists.
The following terms were laid out to the Sultan of Ingland: The Sultan will be allowed to go into exile in Rome, while his Catholic join the French leadership. Tireless in Faith, if no one else, will be allowed to keep his rank of Prince due to having royal blood and his recognition of the authority of France.
With no walls and no army defending, Marquis St. Simon's ten thousand elite and heavy infantry, eleven thousand of the north European mercenaries, and another ten thousand Thaery mixed light forces, stormed Winchester. Dharr Ralif ibn Abdullah was captured along with whatever was left of the Sultanate. The port was garrisoned with a paltry four hundred men. Maurice de Fitz of Brittany unloaded colonists and the Marquis continued on to Sussex.
Sussex was pacified quickly and the colonists were given their instructions. No garrison was placed, and no leaders hung around to see if the region would revolt. It did not. Winchester did though. The Marquis continued on through Anglia to Northumbria.
In Africa, Lieutenant Jean Giustiani headed north to force tribute from Okoyo and then headed further north to Douala to juggle some forces in the garrison of Dogubu. He then headed back to cross the Kongo to attack the Matadi and finally Mbundu. Dogubu revolted.
The West African mercenary leader Jacob Goldberg received a commission from the French crown to undertake one of the longest voyages in recorded history. To map more surely the Cape of Good Hope. He would become the first West African to sail around South America as far as French records show.
Both Lieutenants Valmont and Jan O'Hara revolted, along with Zanzibar City.
THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
Gregory XIII, Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Christ, Servant of the Servants of God, Supreme Pontiff on the Universal Church
Usury restrictions: Lifted
Consecration: Catalonia(ch) Provence(ch) Normandy(ch) Bruges(ch) Liguria(ch) Tuscany(mn) Spoleto(mn) Lyonnais(ab) Orleans(ab)
Pius expanded the infrastructure and military skills. The Papacy acquired a couple 1st and 3rd rank ships of the line from the dockyards of Roma. Thirty six hundred men were added to the guard and a few cogs were built in Napoli. Church labor was sent into the Apennines to scout out a new route for a royal road to Bari from Roma.
Upon the death of Pope Pius V in 1572, the conclave chose Cardinal Ugo Boncompagni, who assumed the name of Gregory XIII, in homage to the great reforming Pope, Gregory I (590–604), surnamed the Great. It was a very brief conclave, lasting less than 24 hours of the 13th of May.
Famine continued to effect the Church.
THE REPUBLIC OF ITALY
Filippo de Reggio, King of the Free state
Diplomacy: Tarantum(nt) Jamaica(c) Livorno(F)
Filippo expanded Tarantum and built up the fountains in Livorno. Diplomacy was the name of the game.
Lieutenant Laertes revolted, but Jamaica did not.
THE MEDICI SYNDICATE
Leonardo, Guild master of Medici
Diplomacy: Cuango(ma) Krasnik(ma)
In Africa, Antonio Ulio collected the garrison from Marampa, relinquishing all control. He marched into Kru and failed to set up an agent, so returned the garrison to the agent in Kitsanga.
Marco released control a bit on Connaught and Munster. Lieutenant Leonardo Lippi picked up a thousand men from Lienster, ceding it to Norman France. He marched west into Connaught and besieged Galway.
On the mainland, Marco set out to acquire an agent in Savoy. The back country lanes were hazardous and the guild master was killed by bandits. Rumored to be an illegitimate Medici cousin, Lieutenant Santi 'Medici', alone near the Home Office, decided to wrest control of the Syndicate, outside of the normal channels. As the most charismatic and active, Leonardo Lippi would have been chosen by the elders. As it is, all guild leaders quit their tasks and made their way back to HQ, some for their own ends, some for the guild.
First on the scene was Pierro di Ferrenza, a disloyal cad. Santi was wounded, but managed to escape, vowing his revenge. Next to arrive was Fabrizio Salviati. Like Pierro, he felt that the elders should have chosen him. He might have followed Leonardo, but Santi opened the door. Pierro was wounded by Fabrizio's henchmen and escaped into the night. Now Fabrizio would rule!
Giacomo Poliziano was true to the old Medici and would support Leonardo. He arrived in Roma within days of Michael Gondolfino, a young head strong rebel, who would make his own mark on the world, siding with neither Fabrizio nor Leonardo. The maneuvering for position ranged all over the city. In the end, both would die by the blade of Fabrizio.
Finally Federico Pulci with two thousand men who were on their way to the south eastern coast of America, but reversed course at Madeira, unloaded at Roma. With no troops at hand, Fabrizio was only slightly disadvantaged. He was able to weasel the command away from Federico with the aid of a poisoned canteen. Leonardo was clued in to Fabrizio's machinations by a wounded Federico. In the ensuing duel, the rebel would die much too swiftly.
With the chaos in the home office and the continued famine still wracking the infrastructure, several sites degraded. Notably
Kitsanga and Cuango, both were relying on the garrison in Marampa. Ciboney and Maya had no support in the web within range. Munster and Amal, previously the main support for most northern sites, revolted. Heraclea, Akrakos, the Hague, Porto, and Wyst all reduced.
THE EMPIRE OF HELVETICA
Phillip Rheinhold, Grand Doge of Helvetica, The Valiant, Defender of Order, Overseas Emperor
Diplomacy: Chitimacha(nt) Powhattan(c) Austria(+12) Champagne(F) Silesia(t) Bastilica(t-to Corsica)
Phillip saw that the Swiss guard enhance their skills along with his artillery. A massive amount of gold was spent in Iroquois to flaunt the Helvetica riches. Paltry amounts were spent in Abenaki and New Katherine.
Streets were paved with new cobblestones and a new square was cleared in Trangau. Rumors of Phillips increasing eccentricities abound. He was seen at a new establishment called Reichs Kasino in Wyst lately, quite der busengrapscher. Fashion scenes seem to be originating from the court weekly and anyone who is anyone wants to be seen pulling up in a phaeton carriages, wearing the newfangled powdered wigs.
Lieutenant Von Schleer loaded up new siege guns, draken, small artillery, and four hundred elite heavy infantry to sail from Wyst to Lucayo in order to build Nassau. Missionaries were only slightly effective. Hosendorf landed in Montauk, on guard for any over spill from the mayhem further down the coast.
Perhaps single handedly, the Empire would alleviate the famine in the Papacy and the Medici in the years to come.
THE NORDIK EMPIRE OF THAERY
Erland, King of the Danes
Diplomacy: Norway(A) Westphalia(A) Svealand(F)
Erland increased the navigation abilities of his fleets and took command of six 1st rank ships of the line. Eric continued to assist the French, now in Northumbria.

THE EMPIRE OF BALTICA
Villem, Emperor of Baltica, Prince of Novgorod
Diplomacy: Chernigov(fa) Chernigov City(fa) Courland(fa)

THE DIHAJ EMPIRE
Turuk Ahadi, Emperor of Dihaj
Diplomacy: Suleimanabad(A) Khazar(f)
Intelligence capabilities were gained by Turuk. The young emperor built several cogs to increase his trade, even initiating trade with Cracow. Lieutenant Panah Morly successfully conducted a census and went on to administrate the Empire.
THE ROMAN EMPIRE - Phormion Dynasty
Stavros Phormio, Imperator Romanus, Basileus of Constantinople
Diplomacy: Chana(HS)
Stavros built fortifications in the homeland and spent many resources out in the colonies. Chucul received the most attention, with new walls being built around Cyrano. Prince Thanatos marched his fifty five thousand men and bombards from the gates of Chah Bahar through the Burning Sword lands. It took him a bit longer to reach Troy than expected because he had no guides. [see new BR 10.13]
Lieutenant Perrin traveled into the wilderness of Chana where missionaries had successfully brought Christianity to the Tupi speaking people. Due to a hasty diplomacy, he was ejected from the region.
Prince Thaddeus joined Lieutenant Odaenathus in Constantinople to sail around Arabia. They landed on the coast of Oman where they would unload fourteen hundred infantry, men and supplies for a new city. Natives attacked during this process, forcing the Romans to pacify them, losing only a couple hundred men. Construction commenced. In the middle of 1572 the sound of thunder shook the encampment. Looking to the south, scouts reported that a horde was approaching! [See Safajah]
THE SAFAJAH
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Cleanser
Diplomacy: None
Abdullah left Fuad to complete the mission and disappeared back into the desert. Fuad took eighty thousand nomads south to assault the coptic city of Denjuba. The city had high walls, but they fell in the first wave. The horde sacked the city, leaving it in flames as they rode south again.
Out of the desert, Fuad struck the coptic city of Zapatees next. It would suffer the same fate. Fuad returned to the desert of Zufar to react to any infidel who would come calling. He received reports of Christians attempting to build a city in Oman and he responded to the call. The Romans were not prepared to fight the Safajah and were sent flying to their sailboats. Fuad would continue with his plans.
Iest Prince Peyman was in talks with his allies in Turbah. He awoke when he heard the screams from farmers and goat herders. The horde was here to destroy the coptic city, like it had done to Zapatees and Denjuba before it! On the horizon, as the sun rose, the Safajah could be heard raising their praise to Allah. The allies prepared as best they could and waited. The horde was well outside the range of the Iesti artillery, gauging its strength. The wait lasted three days... was this a passive siege? Merchants continued to deliver food so that must not be. The next day the horde was gone.
Fuad would make his way slowly north towards Mecca. At the gates of the Holy City, members of the horde joined others at the end of their pilgrimage. Fuad returned to the desert to confer with his father.

Consecration: Jaen(ch) Cordoba(ch) Murcia(ch) Madiera(ch) Saragoza(ch) Valencia(ch) Baghdad(UN) Porto(ch) Kazmedina(ch) Salamanca(ch) Leon(ch) Dokhla(ch)
Soroush expanded the number of his operatives. Religious fervor increased and influence was spread further into the Iesti and Basra Traders. Monopolies were transferred the Traders as well. Despite Soroush's efforts, several sites closed due to the failure to upgrade the facilities at Agadir.
THE BURNING SWORD EMPIRE
Emperor Hammad II ibn Hammad, Grand Emperor of the Sword, most faithful follower of Allah
Diplomacy: None
Hammad's cavalry quality improved and the royal road to Kumis was repaired. The Burning Sword gave Iesti, Roman, and Yzidi complete freedom of movement within the Empire. Prince Zardin was freed in a daring escape from his Georgian prison. Aqueducts were built in Jibal and fortresses were built in Mand and Makran.
Prince Abdul of Pontus marched into Chah Bahar to take control back from his Roman allies. At the end of 1571 General Mohamed dragged a few bombards across the Kuhha ye Agros to attack Kumis. With his thirty thousand men, it did not take long. From Kumis the General marched into the Bogazgol homeland, and then back to Kumis, apparently mapping out the trade route. He ended 1573 in Daylam preparing an attack.
AS SHIRKI AL BAHRI AL BASRA (SBB)
Faruk Aslan, Kalifat Rasul Allah, Captain General of the Basra Overseas Trade Company
Capitalization: Accra(ma) Prambanan(ma) Chernigov City(mf)
Diplomacy: Uige(HS) Georgia(c) Buenos Aires(t) Mopizza(F) Adana(t) Cape(nt) Herero(nt) Dihaj(AW)
Faruk saw warship quality improve as well as a pleasing message from his minister of intelligence. Witnesses thought they saw 'sneaky people' around the Basra dockyards.
Faruk gained Arawak and Ras Salaam from WHOMPCO. He commanded that they should only pay tribute, thus easing their burden. Ras Salaam was not allowed the same privileges and so it revolted. Faruk also dropped Khwarzim.
The Captain General set sail from Basra on his personal corvette and sailed through Cape Fria and west on the Buengula Current. He explored the Falkland Sea and discovered the islands to the east. He sailed back through Cabral's Passage, returning to Basra in 1573.
Prince Mutur Noir delivered gold to Prince Kahve Noir, who would shuttle this gold to the Lahilla primacy, set up an agent in Accra and then managed to incite the Uige natives.
Trader Mohamad Aslan acquired an agent in Pramabanan early in 1571, much to the consternation of il Syndacato men. He went on to explore the Nicobars to Coromandel coast. In Africa Captain Tolga Nefus collected some engineers and a thousand men from Prince Mutur Noir and sailed around the continent to Kitsanga in Susu. Here he seized the WHOMPCO factory!
Trader Kamal Frada headed up the delegation to absorb the nation of Dihaj. The talks went quite badly - Kamal was wounded but barely escaped with his life. Prince Uriel Nasr and Trader Garud Frada were killed and Counselor Ayef Shahyer was imprisoned, likely to be tortured.
Maniak reduced to an agent and Prambanan closed.

THE HARAYUK RAJPUT EMPIRE
Medin Chandravara, Master of Kaunaj, Emperor of Rajput
Diplomacy: None that you know of nor may ever know of, but both princesses Niverta and Adhyatmika are now married...
Medin expanded the Harayuk infrastructure unexpectedly, as well as seeing warship and cavalry skills improve. Espionage and assassination techniques improved as well. Rusichatta was expanded around a strong citadel. Forty six frigates were built at the capital while a hundred fifty four transports were turned over to merchants trading goods within the Empire. Finally, the Emperor decreed that Bengkulu and Selatan are not required to pay tribute.
In domestic affairs, Queen Vasanti died in 1571 due to a bad miscarriage. Sadly, Prince Ramunaja's wife Kalpana suffered the same fate.
Lieutenant Tonka Truk, a jaundiced man who was pushed around by other small children when he was young, took eight thousand cavalry into Kashmir to oversee the pacification and subsequent colonization of that wealthy region. This was an easy task since he had the assistance of Achyuta and the Indian mercenaries.
Prince Devagya and Lieutenant Ydrisi were on hand to ensure that Kuhistan would accept their new Harayuk overlords as colonies were placed in both it and Seistan. Prince Devagya went on to attack and pacify Khurasan, losing only as few as a hundred men in the process.
Lieutenant Duganarda loaded up the South Asian mercenaries that he hired from il Sindacato in Sabui on the Riouw Sea and then sailed west to the southern tip of Africa. The mercenaries conducted an amphibious assault on the beaches of the Xhosa wilderness. With the natives subdued, the settlers constructed the port of Dhatrudaveera.

The port of Polonarva was ceded to the Hidden Dragon.

The Don died in 1573. Il Sindacato chose his second son to manage the House.

THE HIDDEN DRAGON OF CHEKIANG
Quan Zhuang, Celestial Emperor of Chekiang
Diplomacy:
Without any monetary support, the missions in Thaton and Siam failed miserably. Wenchou in Chehsi was expanded while another twenty five thousand men were added to the Celestial army. Quan took a wife wore bore him two sons and a daughter.
Count Du Ku loaded thirty two thousand men from Xihai in Mogadishu with pomp and ceremony. He arrived in Polonarva to raise the banner of Chekiang and to unload ten thousand heavy infantry to quell any possible rebellion. The fleet sailed on to Rangoon to deliver the remaining men to Li Gong. The Count joined Duke Hao to support the siege of Fido.
Li Gong took twenty times the firepower to take the rebellious city of Poppy Blossom before returning to Prome. Duke Hu gathered twenty six thousand men to meet up with Li Gong in Prome in June of 1572. The combined forces crossed the Irrawaddy in June of 1572; the region was easily pacified. Chalukya forces then landed and placed a garrison.
Duke Hu, Li Gong, Duke Hwai took their forty five thousand men to besiege Fido. The walls fell quickly and Chalukyan forces placed their garrison. The trio continued on to attack Dvaravati. Li Gong was slain but the region was taken. Leaving a garrison of forty six hundred light infantry, the duo continued on to attack Siam.
THE CIAO ZHONG CHINESE EMPIRE
Chin Le, King of the Northern Prefectures
Diplomacy: Shangtung(fa) Chilhi(ea) Fulao(HS) Lo'yang(HS)
Assassins failed to kill Chin Le as he built more than twenty thousand heavy elite cavalry to withstand the onslaught of Twang Gou. Several diplomats to patch up the independent regions. Most attempts were failures with Syin Gong even being taken prisoner in Lo'yang, but Shi Ah was successful in Chihli, especially after the depredations of Twang Gou.
Wang Lien was able to secure transport with the help of il Sindacato. With Shi Ah and Tien Wong paving the way for his unloading on the beaches of Shangtung, Wang would reclaim both Tsainan and Honan.
Chin Le commanded his general Zhuwen to accompany him in regaining the Empire. They gathered twenty five thousand men and in May Shentung was reclaimed. Continuing on the offensive, they reclaimed Houma next. The national army headed into Hopei where scouts informed their leaders that Lee Wan of Kaifeng was waiting for Twang Gou.
THE ZHONG GOU CHINESE EMPIRE
Twang Gou, Emperor of the Northern Prefectures
Diplomacy: None
Terrorists set fire to the grain stores in Shentung, Honan, Houman, Hopei, and Tsainan. This left Twang hurting for funds to pay his troops. He survived a mutiny and rallied his men to take the Capital so that they could get paid! He attacked Chilhi and then looted it at the end of July 1571.
Twang Gou rode into Hopei at the same time as the forces of Chin Le. The nationals had the advantage of Zhuwen's masterful tactics while the rebels had nearly four times the combat strength. In the first clash Chin Le dished out more damage than he took and even captured the ally from Kaifeng, forcing the rebels to withdraw, which they did in good order. With no forces to regroup, both armies were ready to attack again. This time more than half of the nationals were slain and the army was disordered. Chin Le was taken captive and Twang rode on to secure the capital.
Former national forces of Wang Lien would find no support and so most of their forces turned mercenary. At the capital Twang would take Yang Ming, Chin Le's eldest daughter as his wife, although always under guard, in order to add some continuity between his dynasty and the last.

THE NIHON EMPIRE
Empress Mugai Nyodai, 92nd Emperor of Nihon, Descendent of Amaterasu
Diplomacy: Mutsu(c) Saga(AW) Wusuli(AW)
Missionaries weren't supported and so all failed to make any progress. The aged Empress built four hundred transports and, interfering with the merchant's affaires, three quarters were placed on fishing and internal trade fleets. Public works were built in Sapporo, Osaka, Ise, Takinawa, Suo, Kyoto, and Parashiro! Field forts were thrown up in Tumin, Mantap, and Anshan while supplies for walls were delivered to Wonsan and Ikenneka. Finally, another thirty thousand cavalry joined the garrisons of Yamoto and Osaka.
Prince Seki Kowa picked up six thousand elite light infantry and ferried them to Saga. His diplomacy was bad, but he was able to handle a guarded retreat.
Lieutenant Yamatoro in the wilderness of Wusuli found his orders were to pacify the land for the Empire. With twenty-four hundred light forces versus an equal number of natives on home turf... he barely escaped with less than a quarter of his original troops.
A fairly large fleet of three hundred six ships arrived in Takinawa in March of 1571. Kondo had orders to load Ito Kosuke's forces, which he had heard were much greater than he could handle. But that army was nowhere to be found and Kondo had other orders to load up colonists and supplies at Kyoto to deliver to Takama in the north. Arriving early at the beaches of Takama, his orders were to wait for Lieutenant Horii.
Horii was exploring the Aleutian Sea after directing improvements in Parashiro. After exploring the Strait of Shelikof and the Kiska-Attu waterway, he met Kondo late in the summer of 1572. Kondo and Horii found that Takama was inhabited, so they returned the resources to the homeland.

In the middle of 1573, assassins took down the Jarl of Kornland. This was the prelude to the end. The Emir of Petra and Prince Ismael sailed to take command of Abdul's forces, the small kingdom, now without a king and no dynasty to fall back on, fell apart.
